Thanks for this feature request @Hinrich Nagel!
Could you please share some additional details about how you would use the lyrics? Where would you want to see them? How would you use them? Do you have a sample image or mockup you could share? The more information you can share, the better. Thanks!

Derek Lee: I‘d like to generate a complete song with Beat note (including all drum-notes and the lyrics) and than play the song on my drumset while the notes and the lyrics are continuously scrolled on my iPad. (I muted the loudness of the speakers of the iPad). In this way I‘m able to sing the song while I‘m playing my drums (Hopefully, nobody hears my ‘charivari‘). I think the best position for the lyrics is above the notes, but the main point from my perspective is, that the notes and the measures are not stretched (see the negative sample of the attachment, generated with the app Stave ‘n‘ Tabs). The measure should have always the same width.

Hi Hinrich Nagel! Thank you for your patience as I catch up after attending a conference. 😅 I want to express my gratitude for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback, including the sample image, which is very helpful in understanding your request. 👍🏻
I completely understand your desire to add lyrics to your measures in Beat Note to facilitate singing while playing the drums. It's great that you've opened this enhancement request, as it allows other users to chime in and share their thoughts as well.
While I can see the value in having lyrics, I want to clarify that Beat Note was initially designed with a specific focus on being an educational tool for drumming students, educators, and content creators, with the primary goal of advancing drumming education. As such, features related to other instruments, vocals, or lyrics weren't initially considered, as they may deviate from this core purpose.
The software you currently use, Staves and Tabs, seems to be a comprehensive notation tool suitable for a wide range of melodic instruments, which sets it apart from the intended scope of Beat Note.
That being said, I'm always open to feedback and suggestions from our users, and I encourage you to continue using Beat Note and sharing your thoughts. Let's see what other users think about this feature request, and as Beat Note evolves, we can reevaluate its potential inclusion. Your support and input are highly valued, and I'm here to make Beat Note the best tool it can be for our community.
Thanks again for your support and understanding!

Derek Lee: I‘m looking forward to the feedback of other users. Hopefully there is a great encouragement for this feature.

Hinrich Nagel Yes, it would be great to add text on a page, under or above the deepest or highest drumnotation. Mg Jörg

Jörg EckhardtIt would be great, if you could vote for this feature to demonstrate to Derek that is an important feature.

Jörg Eckhardt Thanks for your comment on this!
In Hinrich's case, he is asking for lyrics to be able to be added.
Some other instructors have asked for the ability to add text to the music, but everyone has a different example of what they want to add.
Can you please describe in detail and provide examples of the kind of text you want to add? What do you want to communicate? What is the purpose of the text?
Please include specific examples of how you want to use this so I can take your feedback into consideration.
Thanks!

Derek Lee hey Derek. It would be perfekt for me to add some text over or under the notation, to explain the way of playing or add things like crescendo or decrescendo or similar instructions.
Derek Lee
Jörg Eckhardt Thanks for this information! I think I will need more, though. Can you please provide me with specific examples?
I will need to collect a lot more information, including specific examples from you, to ensure I understand all of the uses that you envision for this kind of feature.

Derek Lee A few examples. 1.) to add lyrics under the notation. 2.) to add dynamic signs above the notation or other signs…
Derek Lee
Jörg Eckhardt Thanks for providing these examples! 🙏🏻
