Increase brightness of the staff lines
Derek Lee
Hi Martin and thanks for creating this request! As you've noted, the color of the music staff lines has been explicitly made lighter in order to allow the music notes to stand out on top of them. This design decision was based on user feedback.
I understand having the ability to control this yourself would be ideal, but every aspect that becomes customizable by the user decreases the intuitiveness and simplicity of the app, so I am hesitant to add this capability to the app.
Are you certain it's the staff lines that make it difficult to follow? Could it be another aspect of the design? I am currently researching a bug where the visual playhead becomes unaligned with the audio playback using certain playback settings, and I understand this makes the music difficult to follow: https://roadmap.beat-note.app/bugs/p/the-playback-note-highlight-bar-really-lags

Hi Martin - I just thought of some more questions to dig into this further.
Given that you're requesting the brightness of the staff lines to be increased, can you please provide more context on _where_ you find the brightness to be insufficient?
For starters, what device are you using? iPhone or iPad, model and size please.
Which screen is it on?
- My Beats screen (listing of all beats)?
- Practice Beat screen (whole beat playback)? If so, what zoom level are you using?
- Practice Measure screen (focused single measure practice)?
- Edit Beat screen (modifying the structure of the beat, add/duplicate/delete measure)
- Edit Measure Screen (sequencer grid music notation input)?
- A different screen (export, etc)?
Is the brightness insufficient on all screens? Or just some? All devices? Or just specific ones? Have you already tried adjusting the brightness on your device? Is the brightness insufficient on the standard app design palate (blue/brown/green) as well as the black and white reader mode?
Please provide as many details as possible. Thanks!
