Notes on PDF are too small
Sean Kim
When you export the PDF to 4 measures per row, which is how I like it (it makes more sense personally), the notes and up being small and hard to see. I would like the size of the notes to be the same as when it is 3 measures per row. Or have an option to choose how many rows per page (which would scale the size of the notes accordingly).

I have the same problem. It‘s to small. There have to be more hight. When you export one measure via JPEG it‘s no problem. But if you have two or more lines on the paper it‘s way to small. My students can‘t read it. Thanks so far

Jörg Eckhardt Hi Jorg and thanks for your comment!
As I mentioned below, can you please provide specific examples?
#1. An example from Beat Note where you think the notes are too small
#2. Any example you have that shows 4 measures wide where you think the note size is sufficient
Please understand there are technical limitations in terms of how the music can be rendered. I am happy to research possible solutions to this, but in order to do so, I need you to provide actual examples. Of course I have tested all paper sizes (A4 and US Letter) in both orientations (portrait and landscape) with all settings for the # of measures. Whether the music is "too large" or "too small" is going to be subjective depending on the person, and I can't understand what "too small" means unless you show me an example of what "just right" looks like for you.
You can attach those examples here or email them to me directly from the app. Thanks!

Hi Sean Kim and thanks for your feedback! Getting the sizing right for PDF exports is a challenge for sure. The more measures that are added to a row, the smaller the notation is going to be.
I'm unsure how much I can adjust this, but I'd be happy to look into this for you. In order for me to do that, it would really help me if you could please provide me with two examples:
#1. An example from Beat Note where you think the notes are too small
#2. Any example you have that shows 4 measures wide where you think the note size is sufficient
This way I have an idea of what you're trying to accomplish and I can see what is possible to do. 👍🏻
You can upload those samples directly here, or if you prefer, you can send them to me in an email from the Settings tab in Beat Note -> Email Derek.
Thanks for your help! 🙇🏻♂️

I forgot to mention - Beat Note already provides the ability to choose how many measures per row in the PDF export, and it already does scale the size of the notes accordingly based on the # of measures you've selected, and then it builds each page of the PDF based on the # of measures per row you're selected.
Currently the app only shows the expected # of pages at the bottom, but I would like to introduce a "PDF Preview" feature so you can also see what the layout would look like with the chosen settings. That will be a future improvement to the PDF export feature. 👍🏻

Currently supported # of measures per row settings depends on orientation:
Portrait orientation (A4 or US Letter): 1-4 measures per row
Landscape orientation (A4 or US Letter): 2-5 measures per row

Hi Sean Kim - Just following up on this request. Can you please provide me with the examples requested?
#1. An example from Beat Note where you think the notes are too small
#2. Any example you have that shows 4 measures wide where you think the note size is sufficient
Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply!
- The one I made for Peach Eyes is too small to read
- I’d like it to look more like The Reason sheet music
Thank you in advance!

Sean Kim Thanks for providing a sample, Sean! 👍🏻 This is super helpful. 🙇🏻♂️
There are some challenges with the size of the music since I need to be able to support larger subdivisions like 16th note triplets and 32nd notes. Now that I have an example to compare to, let me see what can be done to improve the size. 🤔
