Render a whole note when appropriate

It would be a great upgrade, but I think the user should be able to choose how to view the notes in one of these four fixed ways:
- a quarter note with three quarter rests (as shown on top of the picture)
- a dotted half note with a quarter rest
- a half note with two quarter rests
- a whole note

When would you use each one of these? And how do you decide which one you want to render? Why is this important to you as the author? Why is it important for the reader? 🙏🏻

Derek Lee Dotted half is what I'd use most of the time, one dot instead of three rests reads cleaner and keeps the page tidy. Whole note when the bar is a single crash for example. The full rests I'd keep for sparse charts where they help keep the count.
Mainly I'd want whatever I pick to stay the same in every bar. Low priority, just a nice to have.

Additionally, this needs to be rendered appropriately in measures with an odd-time signature based on the appropriate value of a whole note as it relates to the odd time.
