I want to set a default voicing to be used every time I create a new beat

Gilles Mercier I wanted to share an update on this enhancement with you.
While I haven't added a "default voicing" setting yet, I made an improvement to the app that I think might satisfy this need for you - or at least get us a lot closer to making this more efficient for you.
Please check out the latest release (v3.4) notes either here or on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/C6CfrNCB-mb/
Essentially what I've done is I've improved the composition process to ensure consistency of time signature, subdivisions, and voicing when editing a beat.
Therefore: whenever you add a new measure (before or after), the new measure maintains the same time signature, subdivisions, and voicing as the measure you started from.
This way here, the time signature, subdivisions, and voicing all stay consistent.
This means you should only have to set the voicing one time for any beat if you want to maintain the same voicing throughout. Or, if you have different voicing for different sections, simply change it one time, and continuing to add measures in each "section" will maintain the voicing of each section.
I am still going to keep this enhancement as I think it is still valuable, and there are other "defaults" that could be helpful - but with the above improvement, I think your beat creation and editing workflow will be greatly improved. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes! Thank you!

Derek Lee Hi Derek. I think this is already a great enhancement !
This gives a lot more stability and ease when creating beats.
Thanks for this enhancement.

Derek Lee Hi Derek, I feel that I might have found a side effect of this latest enhancement...
Context : I have a beat with multiple measures, all as standard beats, I mean showing only HH / snare / kick
Action : I add a measure as a fill... to do so I edit the new measure to add all my instruments (adding high tom / mid tom / floor / floor 2).
Result : my new fill measure is ok but now all the measures are showing the full instrument list, even the standard beat measures that I did not edit...
And as I do not have any option to remove instruments on certain measures I am stuck with large and complex instrumentation on all the "simple beat" mesures that I initially did not want to edit... ans also for any new measure I want to add.
I feel that not only we'd need an option to edit instruments for "this measure / all beat", but also the possibility to remove an instrument from any measure / beat.
PS not sure if this is really related to this ticket's enhancement, though...

Gilles Mercier Thanks for your feedback on this! The behavior you describe has not changed at all as a result of the enhancements I made. The full instrument list is always shown. The enhancements I made apply to time signature, subdivision, and voicing only.
In fact, your original request related to wanting to delete instruments per measure is still open: https://roadmap.beat-note.app/feature-requests/p/be-able-to-adddelete-instruments-per-measure
.. as well as the original request I had opened and asked for feedback on: https://roadmap.beat-note.app/feature-requests/p/delete-remove-or-hide-instrument
So, to my knowledge, there is no "side-effect" of the enhancements that were made - but bugs do happen as this is all quite complex - so if you do find any, please let me know!
Before I make changes to the instrument list, I'm still awaiting more feedback from users. Once I can acquire some more feedback and do some more user reviews, I'm excited to start looking into solutions. Would you be willing to take a call with me to discuss? Or do you have anyone else you know who is using Beat Note who I can consult with? Is there any other ways you can help move this forward?
