Hi Gino Culpepper and welcome to the Beat Note community! 🎉

The idea behind the music input of Beat Note is to have it automatically add rests where needed so you don't have to. The app already adds the appropriate rests for all supported subdivisions: quarter notes, eighth notes, 8th note triplets, 16th notes, 16th note triplets, and 32nd notes.

There are enhancement requests for adding quintuplets (5s) and septuplets (7s) and once implemented, these would also add the appropriate rests as well:

To my knowledge, the only rest that is not supported yet is the half-note rest. There are existing enhancement requests to add whole notes and half notes as well if you would like to cast your vote for these:
